A Guide to Tumescent Liposuction

Finding out information on tumescent liposuction is very important if this is a procedure that you are interested in going through with. This is not only for your own safety, but as well to ensure that you are as comfortable and prepared for the procedure as possible. In comparison to most other cosmetic surgery procedures, tumescent liposuction is not considered as being a major procedure, but is still a procedure nonetheless.

Therefore you need to take it seriously and you need to learn the details about this procedure and make yourself more comfortable before going into it.

What it is

Do you know just what tumescent liposuction is? Many people have a misconception about this procedure, and although it is a good fix for some people, it may not even address the issues that you are concerned with. If you are overweight and want to lose a ton of weight, this is not going to be the right procedure for you. Tumescent liposuction is simply not going to change your body figure that much.

Instead, it is going to be able to remove excess fat pockets from off your body, for instance if you have lost a great deal of weight and have fat left over, liposuction can help to remove it and leave you feeling better about yourself.

What Happens

For liposuction, a tube is inserted through a very small incision in order to suction the fat, and the tube is then pushed and pulled through the fat layer, breaking up the fat cell and vacuuming them out as a result. It is really no different than any other type of plastic surgery, but tumescent liposuction tends to have less risks and complications than others.

It is important to be aware of the possible dangers of liposuction. It is important to remember that liposuction is a surgical procedure but it is not risk free. Lumps and bumps are often a result of liposuction and these are often very unsightly. There are scars as well that you may be left with, and post-operative liposuction scars are permanent, so you will want to be aware of this before going into it.

Usually only two incisions will need to be made to perform the procedure and so it is not like you will be left with lots of different scars all over your body. Swelling is another common side effect of the procedure, but by wearing an appropriately fitting garment afterwards this will help to deal with the swelling.

Introduction

If you’ve ever heard about liposuction or its technique, you’ve probably heard of tumescent liposuction. Body-Jet liposuction was developed from the tumescent technique, allowing this new procedure to bring about better results.

Body-Jet new technique makes it different from and superior to the tumescent technique, which we will discuss in greater detail.

Why Body-Jet is safer and better

The Body-Jet, also referred to as Water Jet Liposuction (WAL), uses a thin, fan-shaped jet that is channeled into the fat tissue. As a result, the fat easily loses its structure and is released.

For the Body-Jet, a pressure system has been developed. This pressure system directs the infiltration solution through a closed tubing system via a piston pump and into a very thin application cannula.

The application cannula is surrounded by an external cannula, which can have different diameters and openings depending on its purpose.

The surgeon who performs liposuction using the Body-Jet technique can choose the rate of infiltration and the level of pressure by using computer software.

The solution

To minimize the side effects of liposuction, this new technique was developed with a two-stage concept.

Pre-infiltration produces rapid anesthetization and vasoconstriction in the liposuction treatment. Then, the liposuction will be carried out through a rinsing solution.

The two-stage concept uses two tumescent solutions that are combined for the water jet technique. The infiltration is performed with a short-acting analgesic with rapid uptake. In this process, the infiltration is also performed with a long-acting analgesic with slow uptake.

The process is performed under continually added and almost immediate aspiration during the liposuction treatment. Therefore, the concentration in the rinsing solution can be reduced.

The surgeon can avoid the “tearing up” effect because the Body-Jet technique gives the surgeon ability to easily “suck” the fat off the patient’s body.

Preparation

With the Body-Jet, the patient will be prepared as though for a typical liposuction treatment. Anesthetization and vasoconstriction take place over a shorter period of time, compared with the tumescent technique.

The patient will be awake during the process and can work with the surgeon to obtain the desired result. The patient can get up during the treatment and look in the mirror to see the results. This is another advantage of the Body-Jet, since it gives the patient the ability to see the results, even before the process has ended.

Result

As you can see, the way the Body-Jet performs the liposuction process makes it easier for the surgeon to remove fat out from the patient’s body.

To summarize, the advantages of the Body-Jet technique are the following:

1. The tissue is not destroyed.

2. Pain, swelling and blue patches are reduced.

3. A smaller quantity of analgesia is required.

4. The result can be optimized during the treatment.

5. Subsequent corrections are minimized.

6. The results can be seen immediately.

7. The operation period is significantly shorter.

Summary

Body-Jet gives the patient better results and satisfaction. If you compare Body-Jet with tumescent technique, you can see that Body-Jet is the better choice.

Common techniques used in liposuction surgery today include:

Tumescent Liposuction
Ultrasonic Assisted Liposuction (UAL)
Power Assisted Liposuction (PAL)
Super Wet
Wet
Dry

It is important to consult a qualified and skilled cosmetic surgeon and discuss each of these techniques in detail. Factors such as medical history, general health, desired results and your surgeon’s recommendations will determine the best procedure for you.

What does each technique involve?

Tumescent Liposuction – This procedure is considered the safest of all liposuction techniques due to some unique characteristics. These are:

The patient does not need to be under general anesthesia.
Fluid loss is reduced.
An IV is unnecessary in most cases.
The patient experiences little discomfort.
An injection containing lidocaine, epinephrine and saline is used.

A large volume of the solution is injected into the fatty areas to be removed. This solution is a local anesthetic, so the patient is awake during the procedure. The fatty tissue becomes swollen and firm and the amount of blood removed during the procedure is greatly reduced.

Ultrasonic Assisted Liposuction (UAL) – This procedure is performed by using a large amount of tumescent fluid along with a metal probe or paddle. The device delivers ultrasonic energy and heat into the subcutaneous fatty areas, breaking down the fat so it can be removed. The patient is required to be under general anesthesia or heavy IV sedation during this procedure.

This method is becoming less common due to the risk of severe scarring and full-thickness burns.

Power Assisted Liposuction (PAL) – This procedure moves a cannula (small, hollow tube) rapidly in-and-out or in a spinning motion. This constant, quick motion separates and removes the fat cells from targeted areas of the body. The power is supplied by an electric motor or compressed air. The PAL procedure allows for less manual movement by the surgeon for a quicker procedure. This method uses the anesthesia technique employed in tumescent technology.

Super Wet Technique – Requires general anesthesia. This procedure requires the injection of diluted local anesthesia. It uses less than half of the volume that the tumescent technique uses. There is significantly more blood loss that with the tumescent technique, but less than with the wet technique.

Wet Technique – This procedure also requires general anesthesia. A large amount of local anesthesia containing epinephrine is injected into the fatty areas. Excessive blood loss is common with this technique so it is rarely used in today’s liposuction procedures.

Dry Technique – This procedure is no longer used for two main reasons. No local anesthetic was injected into the surgery locations. Also, there was more blood loss during this surgery than any other liposuction procedure.

Board certified cosmetic surgeons employ the latest techniques available to them. During your consultation, ask as many questions as possible about your elected procedure. Be sure all of your questions have been answered thoroughly and clearly before making any decisions.

With advances in liposuction, areas of excess fat are injected with a sizable amount of anesthetic liquid before liposuction is performed. The anesthetic causes the compartments of fat to become swollen and firm or “tumesced.” The expanded fat compartments allow the liposuction cannula to travel smoothly beneath the skin as the fat is removed. This type of liposuction, called tumescent liposuction, can be used on any area of the body but is most often used on areas that require careful precision such as the face, neck, arms calves and ankles. Both men and women of all ages have been seeking tumescent liposuction.

This type of liposuction is a fairly new method that reduces post-operative bruising, swelling and pain. The amount of blood loss is minimized during tumescent liposuction, and this technique also reduces the chances that a blood transfusion will be necessary during the procedure. Liposuction patients are very glad to hear that.

Although blood loss is minimized with tumescent liposuction, patients undergoing the procedure still face the same risks associated with traditional liposuction. Some of the risks with this type of liposuction include pulmonary edema (fluid in the lungs) and lidocaine toxicity (too much lidocaine).

General anesthesia is typically the best option for the liposuction procedure. Or, if it’s appropriate, the tumescent solution may serve as the only means of anesthesia for the procedure. Your cosmetic surgeon will discuss all anesthesia options with you at the time of your consultation.

The Process

In tumescent liposuction, the warmed tumescent liquid (a mixture containing lidocaine, epinephrine and intravenous fluid) is injected into the area to be treated. As this liquid enters the fat, it becomes swollen, firm and blanched. Liposuction is then performed on the tumesced areas.

The anesthesia used can help to provide pain relief following liposuction and decrease the need for additional pain meds. For the first couple of days, most patients experience swelling in the areas that were treated and some fluid drainage from the incision sites. Patients usually resume light physical activity within the first few days following surgery, and normal physical activity can be resumed within a few weeks.

Patients typically see a marked difference almost immediately after surgery. After three weeks, more improvement can be seen after the majority of the swelling has subsided. After approximately three months, any persistent swelling will disappear and your final shape and contour will be visible.

Drainage from the incision sites is common with any liposuction. Occasionally, a small rubber drainage tube will be inserted beneath the skin for a couple of days to prevent fluid from building up. You may need to take antibiotics while these drains are in place, and until the major drainage has stopped altogether, you may need additional gauze pads to keep your clothing from getting damp.

Liposuction and medical tourism in Asia

Liposuction is a surgical procedure that sculpts your body by removing unwanted fat from specific areas, such as your buttocks, thighs and upper arms. Liposuction (or lipoplasty) is a plastic surgery procedure that uses a combination of a vacuum and suction to remove fat in problem areas Liposuction, also known as lipoplasty (“fat modeling”), liposculpture or suction lipectomy (“suction-assisted fat removal”) is a cosmetic surgery operation that removes fat from many different sites on the human body. Areas affected can range from the abdomen, thighs, buttocks, to the neck, backs of the arms and elsewhere. The fat is usually removed via a cannula (a hollow tube) and aspirator (a suction device). singapore liposuction surgeryThe magnitude of fat removed varies by doctor, method, and patient, but the average amount is typically less than 10 pounds (5 kg). There are several factors that limit the amount of fat that can be safely removed in one session. The most important surgical challenges of any liposuction procedure is:

Remove the right amount of fat Cause the least disturbance of neighboring tissue, such as blood vessels and connective tissue Cause the least discomfort to both patient and surgeon Leave the person’s fluid balance undisturbed Ensure speedy recovery Try and get the desired look the patient wanted.

Ultimately, the operating physician and the patient make the decision. The procedure may be performed under general or local (“tumescent”) anesthesia. The safety of the technique relates not only to the amount of tissue removed, but to the choice of anesthetic and the patient’s overall health. It is ideal for the patient to be as fit as possible before the procedure and to have given up smoking for several months. Recovery depends on the extent of the liposuction. Generally patients are able to return to work within two days and two weeks. A bandage is worn for two to four weeks. Types of Liposuction: Dry liposuction Wet liposuction A small amount of fluid, less in volume than the amount of fat to be removed, is injected into the area. Super-wet liposuction In this method, the infusate volume is in about the same amount as the volume of fat expected to be removed. This is the preferred technique for high-volume liposuction by many plastic surgeons as it better balances hemostasis and potential fluid overload (as with the tumescent technique). Laser assisted liposuction Laser assisted liposuction is a procedure that uses thermal energy to affect lipolysis. Tumescent liposuction Tumescent liposuction is the step that precedes, ‘wet liposuction’. Under this procedure the surgeon injects a solution containing a local anesthetic and vasoconstrictor directly into the subcutaneous fat that needs to be removed.

Tumescent lipo is considered the newest improvement in liposuction technology. In it’s early stages, liposuction carried great risk. The patients were put under full anesthesia and large instruments were utilised to remove fat from where the patient needed. The healing was very long and painful. The exact process features small tubes being placed in the specified areas and the suction of fat tissue. This is done after the area is first injected with a substance. This causes anesthesia of the surface as well as the fat tissue to become more firm. Additionally, it allows for the insertion of the metal tubes. The injury to the body is minimal and most often it is a one day procedure.

If you want safe liposuction, tumescent lipo is the answer. You won’t even be able to see your the incision from tumescent lipo, or see any blood for that matter. Since the anesthesia is just for the operated area, the risk of complications is much lower. In addition, the unwanted side effects that may appear are diminished. The quantity of time required to cure tumescent liposuction will depend on the complexity and extension of the procedure. Generally, many patients can easily return home just after the surgery and they can restart their normal activities in about one week. Another highlight is a unique kind of equipment that can be worn underneath the clothes to protect the area.

While lots of people need only a small amount of fat tissue removed, the procedure needs to be repeated for others. To ensure safety, larger removals of fat are disseminate over several sessions. The changes can be seen in several days to several weeks, but they are always present. And they are almost always definitive. There are plenty of benefits of using this surgery over the traditional method. Firstly, the anesthesia is local and the risk of side effects is minimal. The recovery is also reduced to a few days. There are hardly any marks left after the incisions, as the inserted tubes are very small. The patients that undergo this surgery are also less stressed.

Not only is this surgery simple but the cost is also reduced compared to other surgeries. Compared to other methods, the cost is pretty low. It is determined by some factors such as complexity of the treatment, volume of fat removed, quantity of areas or number of total procedures needed. Then again, the overall price of this procedure is moderate, since insurance will not cover it. Considering these facts, if you believe that you need liposuction, you should try to choose this method. The tumescent lipo has many advantages over other procedures, the most important being the low level of risk involved and recovery time plus the overall low cost.

The tumescent technique may be the reason liposuction is the number one surgical cosmetic surgery in the United States (according to the American Society of Plastic Surgeons). It is one of the safest, most effective methods of liposuction, and has been available since the mid-1980s.
Are you considering liposuction? At most cosmetic surgery offices, both tumescent and ultrasonic liposuction are offered. Both types use a narrow instrument called a cannula to break up fatty tissue and remove it from the body through small incisions.

Tumescent liposuction

In tumescent liposuction, the area to be treated is first injected with a saline solution that contains a local anesthetic. The saline swells the fatty tissue and makes it firm, helping the cosmetic surgeon determine the most important areas for fat removal.

Ultrasonic Liposuction

In ultrasonic liposuction, the cosmetic surgeon uses a cannula that emits ultrasonic energy. As the cannula moves through fatty areas, the ultrasonic energy liquefies fat cells, which are then removed. Fibrous areas of the body, such as the back, are suitable for this procedure.

Regardless of the technique, fatty tissue is immediately reduced, and the final stunning results of your liposuction procedure can be fully enjoyed three to six months following treatment.

Liposuction Recovery

For the first 72 hours after tumescent liposuction, fluid drainage from the incisions will be released via a small drainage tube inserted under the skin. Patients are fitted with an elastic garment to wear for the first few weeks to assist in keeping the swelling down and allows the skin to adjust to its new contours.

Antibiotic and pain medication are prescribed to reduce post-operative discomfort and control pain and prevent infection. Most patients can walk around shortly after surgery and can return to work and other activities within a few days. Stitches are generally removed within ten days. Any remaining swelling and bruising subsides within three weeks. Full recovery from a liposuction procedure can take four weeks to six months, depending on the extent of liposuction performed.

If you are considering liposuction, consider this: Dr. Robert V. Mandraccia of Fort Myers, Florida uses the Lysonix Ultrasculpt, one of the newest innovations to liposuction surgery. The Lysonix Ultrasculpt assists in the removal of fat from difficult areas, decreasing swelling, pain and bruising, so you can recovery more quickly. IV sedation is also offered for most cosmetic surgery procedures in the privacy of his own on-site operating facility, certified by the Florida Board of Health as having met their stringent requirements.

Liposuction Basics

Liposuction is a basic procedure many patients turn to when they are trying to get rid of excess fat accumulation. Often when diet and exercise fail, liposuction seems like an appropriate method of weight loss. Critics will tell you that liposuction is useless if you can’t change your habits, but many people find that liposuction gives them the boost they need when trying to reduce their weight.

Liposuction is a basic procedure that requires an incision and the insertion of an instrument called a cannulae. The cannulae is then connected to a vacuum like machine that will literally suck the fat right out of a person’s body. Liposuction hit its popularity in the eighties and many still swear by it today.

Those who have experienced tumescent liposuction report positive reviews of the entire experience. In fact, in 2004 The Dermatol Surgeon reported the highest satisfaction rates ever in the cosmetic surgery industry reporting a 91% satisfaction rate. This is nearly 30% higher than the highest satisfaction rating of traditional liposuction.

Body Sculpting

Body sculpting is any medical procedure that alters the natural shape of the body for a more favorable shape. Body sculpting has become one of the primary focal points of cosmetic surgery, and the advancements in which it has accrued are really quite remarkable.

When asking your surgeon about any body sculpting procedure, he should be well up to date on the least invasive procedures as well as those that produce the best results. Body sculpting is considered an art form to many surgeons, and they take great pride in the results. Any proficient surgeon should offer to show you before and after photographs of their work. These photographs should not include models or specific areas covered by clothing. Most patients that felt their surgeon did a quality job and had a relatively stress free experience will agree to before and after photographs.

Risks of Liposuction

All surgery carries at least some amount of risk. Any time a person undergoes anesthesia, there is always the risk of complications and death, depending on how your body reacts to the anesthetic.

Liposuction comes with its own set of risks including things like bleeding, skin irregularities, dimpling or lumpiness, loose skin, or infections. For the most part these side effects are correctible if they occur and usually even without an additional procedure. Liposuction has been through numerous enhancements and continues to improve to minimize the side effects associated with liposuction.

Surgery of any kind will come with a certain amount of pain. Although the pain associated with liposuction tends to be considered minimal, your pain tolerance may be higher or lower than the set standard.

You can increase your risks of complications by choosing a surgeon based on price. Most often the lowest priced surgeon is not qualified to do even simple procedures. The surgeon’s reputation is tarnished in the community so he recruits business by underbidding his competitors.

Even with basic procedures take the time to talk to other surgeons, nurses, and people who have cosmetic procedures or body sculpting performed. Thoroughly investigate the history of any surgeon you are choosing to do any form of reconstructive surgery. It is, after all, your body. Saving a few bucks isn’t worth the risk you run with an incompetent surgeon.

The Benefits of Tumescent Liposuction

Tumescent liposuction is considered a remarkable improvement in the standard of liposuction. It carries fewer risks and side effects. The side effects are minimal in comparison due to the smaller size of the cannulae and the initial injections used for the procedure. Tumescent liposuction has been as close to perfected as a cosmetic procedure can be perfected.

The tumescent liposuction procedure does not require the patient to undergo general anesthesia. This alone significantly reduces the side effects associated with anesthesia such as grogginess and disorientation. It also eliminates the side effects of seizure and death associated with general anesthesia.

The healing time for tumescent liposuction is reduced due to the small size of the cannulae and a large injection of epinephrine. The bruising and bleeding that accompanies a liposuction procedure is significantly reduced, and the risk of skin irregularities is dramatically reduced. Of course, risks still apply as they will with ant cosmetic procedure, but tumescent liposuction carries a much lower risk of side effects.

Tumescent liposuction has a faster recovery period with fewer complications than traditional liposuction. Most patients can be up and walking and returning to work within a few days. Physical exercise is typically acceptable after only about a week, instead of the two to three week period associated with other forms of liposuction.

Most surgeons who perform cosmetic procedures are well acquainted with tumescent liposuction, so finding a capable surgeon should not be an issue. Although tumescent liposuction is considered the best, it is really not all that new and cosmetic surgeons have embraced the procedure and its reduced risks of side effects.

Understanding the Tumescent Liposuction Procedure

Tumescent liposuction is a relatively simple cosmetic procedure. The patient is injected with a local anesthesia and is awake through the entire process. A large amount of saline and epinephrine is injected into the affected areas to be liposuctioned. Epinephrine makes the capillaries smaller. This in turn reduces bleeding which also reduces swelling and bruising.

A small incision is made in order to insert the cannulae. The incision for a tumescent liposuction procedure is much smaller than traditional liposuction incisions which reduces healing time as well.

The cannulae is the attached to a vacuum machine which sucks the fat right out of your body. The incision is then closed and an elastic compression sleeve is applied to the area to help the skin contract and speed healing.

After being assured that there is no bleeding and the patient is ready, the procedure is over and it’s time to go home. After just a few days of gentle movement around the house the patient can return to work. After a week the patient can exercise and any of the side effects that may crop up are easily correctable. It takes about a year for any surgical scar on the body to fully heal.

Any form of body sculpture is likely to have mostly positive results. Remember that you are altering the body’s natural appearance and it will take some time for those results to appear. The healing process, however quick it may be is one to be respected and honored.

Finding out More

As with any cosmetic procedure it is important to be as educated as possible about the process of body sculpting. Understanding the procedure, the recovery, the expectations of the surgeon and recognizing a quality cosmetic surgeon are all key factors in creating a good experience when it comes to body sculpting.

As popular as cosmetic surgery has become, and as efficient and effective as the surgeons have become, a quality surgeon is still vital. Just because a tumescent liposuction is a routine procedure for him doesn’t mean that it is for you. Finding a plastic surgeon that can treat his patients as individuals with real needs is rare. Knowing how to go about finding the right plastic surgeon is even rarer. It’s more than just picking a name from a phone book. Learn the right questions to ask your surgeon candidates to minimize the potential of a poor surgical experience.

Optimizing your information and finding the right procedure for you takes some knowledge as well. Just because someone you know had tumescent liposuction doesn’t necessarily mean that you are a good liposuction candidate. Learning the right questions once again can help narrow down what might be best for you and your body overall.

Knowing where to turn to find the information you need to make intelligent and informed decisions is just as important as deciding on the procedure itself. Solid, groundbreaking information is vital to making any decision about your body or your health. Just because we are talking about your overall cosmetic health doesn’t make the decisions you come to any less important. Don’t walk into a surgeon’s office unprepared to ask the vital questions. Get the information you need in order to ask the right questions.

One of the best and most complete ways to educate yourself about upcoming procedures, or even body sculpting that you are simply considering is to find an all inclusive website designed to give you the knowledge you need. Understanding what questions to ask and how to go about finding a top notch doctor are all part of the information process.

The all inclusive web site that can offer you all of your educational needs is lifeplasticsurgery. Here you will find the information to have informed conversations with your doctor and learn what questions to ask. You read accounts of other people’s experiences in order to determine what’s right for you. You will find links to more information and unbiased, unsolicited opinions on various procedures. It’s like all in one stop shopping for everything cosmetic surgery.

Defining Tumescent Liposuction Basically, tumescent liposuction is a surgical procedure that is involved in the removal of excess body fat. Both traditional liposuction techniques and tumescent anesthesia are used during this sort of surgical procedure. Tumescent liposuction is one of the many procedures that is newer to the cosmetic surgery line up. In fact, tumescent liposuction was not used until the 1990´s. In comparison to other liposuction procedures, tumescent liposuction has many benefits when it comes to a lessened amount of bleeding during the surgery and a quicker recovery period afterwards. Lidocaine and epinephrine are the two main items that make tumescent liposuction so much different from traditional liposuction procedures. The lidocaine that is used will serve as a local anesthetic to the patient and they will not need to undergo general anesthesia. The epinephrine is what helps to keep the bleeding at a minimum during the surgery, as it will temporarily cause the capillaries to become restricted. With tumescent liposuction, a minimum amount of sedative is all that has to be used. The lidocaine and epinepherine will be injected into the fat under the skin and will cause the fat to become firm and swell up, which makes it easier to remove. The lidocaine will actually be retained in the patient’s body several hours after the surgery has been completed, which will help with any pains post surgery. In fact, the patient will be able to enjoy twelve or more hours of pain free recovery because of the lidocaine. The patient will not have to experience the extreme disorientation that many other patients who undergo traditional liposuction procedures have to deal with due to the amount of sedative they must take. Nausea is another unpleasant feeling that tumescent liposuction patients will not have to deal with in comparison to traditional liposuction patients. There are risks to this type of liposuction procedure, just as there are with any other surgical procedure. The patients will hae to suffer through some side effects such as bruising and swelling. Patients may also experience some temporary numbness of the treated area of skin and tissue. There may be some significant drainage in certain effected areas and there may also be some skin irregularities that result from this surgical procedure. However, skin irregularities only occur in a small percentage of patients and this form of surgery is generally quite safe.

Tumescent Liposuction – how much of fluid infiltration do we really need

http://divinecosmeticsurgery.com/bodysurgery.html

Most people opting for a liposuction understand the meaning of the term tumescence. Basically this means, the infiltration of fluid in the areas to be liposuctioned, so as to make it easier to perform liposuction and also allow the minimum of bleeding. This is made possible by use of various solutions and their constitution. Broadly all these solutions contain local anesthetic in the form of xylocaine, and vasoconstrictor (agents that stop bleeding). A little while back, the fluid infiltration was seen as the most major development in liposuction, but really speaking, how much of fluid do we actually need?. Lets try to answer this question as we proceed

In tumescent anesthesia we like to infiltrate in a 1:1 ration with the expected amount of the fat to be liposuctioned. So if it is estimated that 1000 ml of fat is to be taken out, we would like to infiltrate about a 1000 ml of the solution. About half of this is absorbed by the body, and the rest is out in the aspirated fat. So in actuality when we have aspirated 1500 ml of fat after putting in 1000 ml of fluid, we can assume that the actual fat content is only about 800-900 ml. so now there is a situation where some surgeon like to infiltrate in a 2:1 ratio (called wet technique) or in a 3:1 ratio ( called superwet technique). The advantage of this infiltration is that the liposuction is virtually bloodless, it is fast, smooth. But look at the other aspect. Out of 6 litres that is aspirated in a wet technique, do not expect more than 2.5 litres of actual fat in this. So it is a good idea to ask your plastic surgeon when he tell you that he has aspirated 6 litres of fat, as to how much of fluid did he put in in the first place.

Now lets look at a reverse situation. Suppose we infiltrate about 1000 ml for about 2 litres of aspirated fat. We would assume that in an aspirate of 2.5 litres, approximately 2.1-2.2 litres is actual fat. Yes there is a little more bleeding, but never alarming enough to require blood replacement. The procedure moves smoothly, and there is prolonged pain relief due to the local anesthetic which was injected. A significant problem that occurs, when large amount of solution in injected, is the difficulty in calculating fluid replacement during surgery, and very rarely the problem of water filling in the lungs has been reported.

In a compromise situation in this scenario, it makes sense to inject in a ration of 0.5-1: 1 amount of infiltration fluid, to get satisfying results, and to give the patient reasonable estimate of the amount of fat that has been aspirated.

One liposuction procedure that stands out and has been recognized world wide as the technique with the greatest amount of safety, the fastest recovery, the least amount of pain and of course the best results is the Tumescent liposuction method. If you are attempting to make an informed decision about surgery, then it requires that you feel confident in your understanding of the procedure and this one is fairly easy to grasp.

Liposuction is often referred to as body sculpture and is heralded as a dream come true. If you have localized areas of accumulated fat that even dieting and exercising will not remove, then it is likely an inherited trait, which until recently you were stuck with no matter what.

Liposuction surgery has made tremendous strides since its inception, such as being able to perform the procedure in an outpatient operation center rather than a hospital. A great plus for the Tumescent procedure is that most patients will be able to walk out of the center or doctors office within 30 minutes after the procedure and should be able to go back to work within a day or two.

It is also interesting to note that for both women and men this is a very popular choice. In women, the most commonly treated areas for liposuction procedures are the abdomen, thighs, knees, hips, calves and ankles. Chin liposuction has also become popular. For men, the most commonly treated areas are “love handles,” the abdomen, breast and the chin, as well as neck liposuction.

The body fat of an adult usually increases gradually over the years and normally after the age of 30 much of the fat is the result of a genetically predetermined pattern. Unfortunately, this fat distribution tends to be resistant to exercising and dieting. For many individuals who have inherited this trait a liposuction procedure is the only realistic means of changing their body.

Fat cells that are removed during liposuction do not grow back. As long as you do not gain an excessive amount of weight, the results are permanent. If there is one complaint that most patients have in common, then it is the fact that due to post surgical swelling the ultimate results normally require 12 to 16 weeks to become completely apparent.

Many surgeries require the use of general anesthesia, which may result in complications and nausea. However, the Tumescent liposuction technique gathers much of its popularity by using local anesthesia only. Most patients claim that there is less pain involved when a local anesthesia is used.

As with any surgical procedure, liposuction operation is associated with some common side-effects, such as bruising, temporary numbness and swelling. And while some irregularities of the skin are possible after liposuction, this side-effect is minimized, along with other side-effects like infections, bleeding and nerve injury by using the Tumescent technique. Perhaps one of the most appealing aspects of this procedure is the minimal downtime involved, which those individuals with busy lifestyles really appreciate.

After surgery for liposuction using general anesthesia, a patient may experience nausea and pain. Using local anesthesia during Tumescent liposuction produces virtually no blood loss and little to no nausea.

Because it does take some extra time to locally inject the anesthesia, a patient may remain on the surgical table longer than someone who had general anesthesia administered. Fortunately, the recovery time after a Tumescent surgery is shorter that one using general anesthesia so the time spent is still pretty much the same.

Though liposuction has been around since the seventies advanced techniques for performing it are relatively new. Tumescent liposuction is one of those newer liposuction methods that are being recommended to patients. Liposuction used to be a very invasive process where a patient needed post operative blood transfusions. This of course led to higher risks for the patient and increased the recovery time needed after the surgery. Thankfully, there have been many advancements in liposuction particularly in the methods and tools used for the surgery. Tumescent liposuction is a popular option.

The Tumescent Procedure Itself

Tumescent liposuction is liposuction that is usually performed under local anesthesia. General anesthesia can be risky in some patients so this is a big seller. During the procedure, areas of excess fat are injected with a large amount of anesthetic liquid(lidocaine, epinephrine and intravenous fluid) before liposuction is performed. The liquid causes the areas of fat to become swollen and firm otherwise known as “tumesced.” The expanded fat compartments allow the liposuction cannula to travel smoothly beneath the skin as the fat is removed resulting in less bruising and blood loss.

Though this procedure is less invasive doctors still recommend that you fit a certain profile. Liposuction, even tumescent liposuction, is still surgery and therefore can not be taken lightly.

The Ideal Tumescent Liposuction Candidate

As with liposuction in general, tumescent liposuction is for those people who are already physically fit. The best profile is a patient who has small areas of fat deposits. They have tried conventional means like diet and exercise without any results. Generally you have to have a physical from your own doctor approving you for the surgery. Sometimes a consultation with a psychologist is advised to make sure you understand why you are choosing liposuction and to make sure you set the right expectations for yourself.

The tumescent liposuction technique isn’t the only advanced method available to you when it comes to liposuction. Please be sure to ask your doctor about the super-wet technique which is similar to tumescent liposuction. Depending on what part of the body you are having the liposuction this may be a better option for you. You should also ask about Ultrasound-Assisted Liposuction which uses energy to liquefy the fat.

Due to the popularity of cosmetic surgery today advances are being made regularly. Tumescent liposuction definitely was a leap forward for prospective patients. If you are prepared to do your homework and ask the right questions liposuction may be your ticket to the body you can’t seem to get on the strength of diet and exercise alone.

Customize Liposuction Package by Cosmetic Harmony

Liposuction is a very popular procedure that even well-known stars such as Demi Moore, Mariah Carey and Tara Reid have undergone. Liposuction is a procedure seek by thousands of individuals around the globe, regardless of sex, such is the case for John Schneider who chose liposuction to reduce stubborn fat deposits from his stomach.

Liposuction, a procedure that involves the removal of fat deposits from distinctive body parts by suction and subsequent molding of the area, has earned a place as one of the most common plastic surgery procedure for both men and women all around the globe. The American Society of Plastic Surgery placed the procedure number three in popularity among American patients in 2008 (with approximately 245,000 procedures) topped only by breast augmentation and nose reshaping.

Cosmetic Harmony, leading medical tourism company in Bogota, Colombia has launched a customized liposuction package. Anthony Giudice, Sales Supervisor at Cosmetic Harmony expresses, “This package includes a full body Liposuction plus SCP (surgical care package) at a tailored price that is much less than our regular price.” He further adds, “Everyone wants to look beautiful and healthy. Since liposuction has become a regular surgical activity with a huge demand, offering such packages makes sense. Our clients get the best as our surgeons, on average, perform 20 percent more procedures than surgeons in other countries and that confirms their experience and expertise. Our clients are also less prone to infection, as the surgery is done on an outpatient basis at a clinic, as opposed to a hospital setting. All of our surgeons and facilities not only meet, but exceed international standards.”

A person can expect to lose between 7 and 11(3.5 to 5 kg) pounds after a liposuction procedure has been performed in the abdomen or waist. As long as the patient maintains a stable weight the effects of liposuction can be permanent.

Smart Lipo is one of the most advanced fat removal procedures available today which due to its short recovery time has often also been referred to as ‘Lunchtime Lipo’. Prior to the advent of Smartlipo, liposuction cosmetic surgery was the only widely accepted fat removal procedure available.

There are a number of differences between Smart Lipo and liposuction surgery. One of the key differences is that smartlipo makes use of laser technology to melt away excess fat from the body whilst liposuction uses a more traditional surgical method of removing fat by making larger incisions and using suction to drain fat from the targeted regions.

Another important reason why smartlipo is being commonly used now as a substitute to liposuction cosmetic surgery is that it has a considerably lower recovery time. Recovering from liposuction surgery generally takes a few weeks whilst a few days is generally more than sufficient for recovery post smartlipo treatment with patients often reporting being able to return to work the next day. The quick recovery time after smart lipo treatment is attributed to the fact that it is a minimally invasive procedure. Smartlipo treatment involves making very small incisions which require no suturing afterwards and the procedure requires local anesthesia only. In comparison Liposuction cosmetic surgery may require to be performed under general anesthesia and does require sutures to be placed to close the incisions.

Although smart lipo in many cases can be the ideal substitute to liposuction surgery, if you are weighing up your options then you should consult with a qualified surgeon who can help you make an informed decision. It is also worth remembering that smart lipo and liposuction surgery should not be seen as alternatives to a healthy lifestyle but as treatments which may help you achieve your goals in conjunction with good dietary habits and regular exercise.

Non Surgical cosmetic surgery

considering non surgical cosmetic surgery? Well, there are a variety of procedures available. You can target your jaw, jowls, giggle lines, forehead, dark circles and bags under your eyes or, you can get a whole non surgical face lift.

While most procedures should be performed by a board authorized surgeon or a skin specialist, in a few cases, a spa will help you look your finest, and trim decades off your face. Keep in mind that any invasive procedure should be done by a doctor. That includes injections of any kind of material into your body.

The different sorts of non surgical cosmetic procedures should all attain the same goal. Stimulate collagen growth, that may help tighten your skin and lose wrinkles. The FDA keeps Yankee standards for wrinkle removal quite high. So there are some treatments that are done in Europe and South America that aren’t authorized for particular use in wrinkle removal or blubber reduction in the united states.

And, as a caveat, while some procedures are called non surgical, infrequently they should be referred to as minimally invasive. Tiny incisions are required for procedures like laser liposuction. the cuts for non surgical liposuction are minor as compared to what’s needed for regular liposuction or a regular face lift.

the more youthful you are , the better chance all cosmetic non surgical treatments you have will accomplish what they are meant to do. So having tiny, relatively cheap’work’ done on a constant basis, can be a better investment than extensive surgery.

Finding a cosmetic specialist

The way that a person looks is very subjective. You need to start off by deciding precisely what you want to boost. When you decide this, you should look for a board certificated cosmetic consultant.

girls who have darker skin, have a tendency to scar easier and can develop keloids, as a result. You need to get a doctor who understands your special skin type and has satisfied patients who are willing to advocate that you see them. You need to also ensure that the doctor is good at what you want to have done.

You also must understand the hottest non surgical treatments, performed by the newest piece of equipment on the market, may not be what your cosmetic surgeon endorses. While it could be your face, you are reliant on your GP’s skills. If their talent is with an older model of equipment, remember that they have performed hundreds, if not thousands of non surgical face lifts using this piece of equipment.

Also let your health practitioner know if you are planning on having future facial cosmetic procedures. Some procedures can’t be done if it follows another type of process. Talk to your doctor to be certain there are no conflicts in what you plan.

Avoid doctors who charge a unreasonable amount for a consultation. If a doctor wants to charge you $500 for a’look see’ you are at the wrong place. Almost all of your cost should be the cost of the process, not your preliminary visit. Avoid surgical practices that pressure you into procedures that you consider pointless.

Most importantly, confirm your licensed cosmetic surgeon explains the risks involved in your non surgical face lift.

Insurance and Your Non Surgical Face Lift

Because cosmetic procedures are elective, be prepared for the proven fact that your insurance company will not pay for your nose job or chin tuck. While non surgical face lifts are cheaper, depending on your procedure, you might pay 2 to 3 thousand bucks. You’re worth every penny of it, but the insurance corporation will not see it this way.

If you’ve got to save for surgery, putting away roughly twenty bucks a week will enable you to get a non surgical face lift process in 3 years. So if you start saving for this when you are thirty-seven, you can start getting work done when you are 40.

kinds of Procedures

Non Surgical Rhinoplasty
Non Surgical Liposuction – Thermage and Titan
Laser Liposuction
Thread Lift
Microcurrent Face Lift
Microdermabrasion
Botox
Tape Lifts
Non Surgical Eye Lift
Wrinkle Creams

pragmatic expectations
non surgical liposuction
if you’re over the age of thirty-five, you will never look twenty again. However , good non surgical plastic surgery and correct skin maintenance can keep you looking 40, well into your sixties.

Cosmetic procedures are not a cure for depression, body dysmorphic disorder or low self-image. A non surgical face lift will not make you into a new person, or absolutely change how you look.

In other words, if you are unhappy with yourself, this won’t be the cure.
non surgical cosmetic procedures

If , however , you wish to improve what is there or change an apparent failing, non surgical cosmetic surgery could be suitable for you.

Non Surgical Cosmetic Surgery

Thinking about non surgical cosmetic surgery? Well, there are a variety of procedures available. You can target your chin, jowls, laugh lines, forehead, dark circles and bags under your eyes or, you can get an entire non surgical face lift.
http://www.nonsurgicalfacts.com

Problems of liposuction

Liposuction is one of the most commonly performed cosmetic surgery procedures. It is generally very safe, has a fast recovery with minimal downtime and early return to work. However everything said and done, every surgical procedure can have its problems, and its own unique set of complications. Here are some of the problems unique to liposuctions and how to prevent them

general anesthesia risks – anesthesia risks are there, though very rare. There are small chances of risk with general, spinal or even epidural anesthesia. The simple trick is to have an experienced anesthetist. I consider local anesthesia as the riskiest of the lot, unless supervised by an anesthetist

infection

seroma and hematoma – these are problems that can occur if the pressure garment that is worn after the surgery is not tight fit or the patient is not compliant with the treatment

paresthesia – there are occasional areas on the body where there can be sensory disturbances, however these would generally recover on their own

urinary problems - these can occur if too much of adrenaline is given in the tumescent solution, causing vasoconstriction of the kidneys and the reduced urine formation.

water in the lungs – if too much of tumescent solution is given or if the patients in hemodynamicaly compromised, this can occur and can be very dangerous. The solution is to be very careful with the amount of fluid that is infiltrated.

bleeding – rare today unless a dry liposuction is done, or if there is a bleeding disorder

cellulite and unevenness – this can occur if uneven liposuction has been done. It is more common on the thighs and buttocks because of the tougher fat structure in these regions.

ARTICLE 3 OF 5

Angelina Cooper is pleased to provide you with an abundant amount of insight and information on Liposuction cosmetic surgery – including tips, suggestions, prices and recovery. With the following 100 Q&A’s, you will gain an indepth knowledge and thorough grasp of Liposuction in order to decide whether a LIPO is right for you.

41) What is the recovery time for Facial Liposuction?

Recovery from Facial Liposuction is a relatively short process. Patients who have their under chin, jowls, or neck treated with Liposuction can expect to experience mild discomfort with some bruising or swelling. This should subside in about seven-to-ten days. Patients may require a few stitches to close the opening made by the cannula (the tube used to break up and remove fatty tissue). Most Facial Liposuction patients return to normal activities within one week and experience the full benefits of surgery within a three-to-six month period.

BODY CONTOUR LIPOSUCTION

42) Liposuction of the Abdomen. How effective is it?

Liposuction is very effective for shaping the abdominal area in men and women. The lower abdomen in particular tends to be resistant to diet and exercise, making even the most fit and active individuals insecure about their appearance. Pregnancy and cesarean births can have a disfiguring effect on the lower abdomen, which diet and exercise cannot correct. Most abdominal fat is located directly beneath the skin (subcutaneous), and can easily be removed through Liposuction procedures. However, fat that is located deep in the abdomen (between the intestines – most common in men) cannot be removed with Liposuction because of the increased risk of severe complications.

43) Liposuction of the Flanks. Where my flanks are located?

Flanks, also known as love handles, are located just above the belt line on the sides and back. Liposuction can greatly improve the appearance of flanks and reduce the amount of fat that bulges over the belt.

44) Liposuction of the Hips. Is it recommended for men?

Liposuction of the hips is generally successful in creating a more contoured figure. This type of Liposuction is usually performed on female hips as men are not as susceptible to retaining fat deposits in this area. The procedure is usually performed under general anesthesia. Patients who undergo Liposuction to improve the appearance of the hips may require additional procedures to attain the desired contour.

45) Liposuction of the Buttocks. Can buttock Liposuction be performed with buttock lift?

Since the normal aging process affects the firmness and elasticity of the skin, older patients may not achieve quite the same results as younger patients. Buttocks Liposuction is often performed in conjunction with a buttocks lift or with thigh Liposuction. It is important to remember when considering Liposuction that shaping the buttocks is more important than reducing the size. Excess removal of fatty tissue in the buttocks can result in an asymmetrical, lumpy, or sagging appearance. The buttocks serve the functional purpose of acting as a soft cushion on which to sit, and are also important in the overall aesthetic appearance of the body. Surgeons should approach Liposuction of the buttocks with the subtle touch of an artist, and should always use a micro-cannula, not more than three millimeters (1/8 inch) in diameter.

46) What are the other parts of the body treatable with Liposuction?

Liposuction of the Thighs

Liposuction of the entire thigh (circumferential Liposuction) is not recommended due to an increase in swelling and extended recovery time. Liposuction of the thighs should be performed in a series of surgeries spaced about one month apart. Focusing the Liposuction on one targeted area of the hips allows the lymphatic tissue to drain excess fluids quickly and evenly throughout the thigh, yielding more desirable results in a shorter amount of time. The above is common practice in the US, in Colombia, plastic surgeons in most cases will do the entire thigh.

Liposuction of the Arms

Liposuction of the arms has a high rate of patient satisfaction. Liposuction of the arms yields a slimmer appearance that can give the rest of the body a more contoured look.

Liposuction of the Tummy

Liposuction of the tummy is a very common procedure for both men and women. It is especially useful in patients who have already lost excess weight through diet and exercise. Liposuction can, in many cases, be the only successful method of eliminating stubborn fat deposits that remain in the tummy and flank region.

Liposuction of the Breasts

Enlarged breasts in women can cause back pain, neck pain, headaches, and poor self esteem. Liposuction is a more effective and less invasive method of breast reduction than other forms of breast reduction surgery. Using Liposuction to remove excess fat has a natural lifting effect on the breast because it results in less volume weighing it down. I personally have not seeing very good results of breast Liposuction

Male Breast Liposuction

Liposuction can also be used as a form of breast reduction in men, but several important factors must be considered first. The surgeon must determine whether the excess tissue in the breast is fatty or glandular. If the breast is primarily fatty tissue, then Liposuction is an excellent method for reducing the size and improving the appearance of the chest.

If a man’s breasts are enlarged with glandular tissue, Liposuction is not an option and other hormonal or medication therapies should be pursued. If the breasts are asymmetrical or oddly shaped, the patient should be examined for possible tumors prior to any surgical intervention. A mammogram is the most effective method for detecting tumors and the possible presence of male breast cancer.

ABDOMINAL LIPOSUCTION (SUCTION ASSISTED LIPECTOMY)

47) What is an Abdominal Liposuction?

One of the most common of all cosmetic procedures, abdominal Liposuction is a technique for re-contouring the body by permanently removing fat deposits from the abdomen. The tendency to accumulate fat in the abdomen (stomach area) may be inherited, and this fat is often especially resistant to diet and exercise. Many patients become discouraged at having lost unwanted pounds without seeing a flatter abdomen. A common complaint is that exercise is just “not making my stomach flatter”, or after months of exercise and overall improvement there has been no change in the waistline. Simply put, the overall proportions of the body may be unbalanced, or the abdomen may simply have retained areas of fatty tissue that cause it to protrude. In these cases, Liposuction can successfully trim excess fat in the abdomen for a flatter stomach or a thinner waistline, thus achieving a more slender, balanced shape.

48) What are some of the most common benefits of abdominal Liposuction?

A newly trim abdomen can provide a psychological lift and an extra incentive to exercise regularly and maintain fitness. Many patients even find physical activity more pleasurable after shedding extra fat, and they also find that clothes tend to fit better.

49) Can Liposuction of the abdomen endanger a pregnancy in any way?

No. There are no problems in being pregnant after a Liposuction of the abdomen. The small scars are final but, if treated properly (correct suturing, massage, lymphatic drainage), they are usually not very evident

50) Can I have abdominal Liposuction done with Tummy tuck?

Yes, Abdominal Liposuction is often performed in conjunction with a tummy tuck, or with Liposuction to other parts of the body.

51) How is the abdominal Liposuction performed?

Before surgery, the surgeon will mark the precise areas of the body where the fat is to be removed. An intravenous (IV) line will be used to make sure the fluid level in your body stays within healthy limits throughout the procedure. If you are not undergoing general anesthesia, you may be given a sedative for relaxation.

During the procedure, the surgeon makes a tiny incision in the skin, typically in the navel or just below the bikini line, and inserts a thin tube called a cannula into the fatty area. The cannula is used to break up the fat deposits and sculpt the area to the desired proportions. The unwanted fat is removed with a powerful vacuum, leaving the skin, muscles, nerves, and blood vessels intact. There are different techniques used for Liposuction, your doctor will decided what technique is best for you and you type of Liposuction.

52) How long does the abdominal Liposuction procedure take?

On average, the procedure takes 1-2 hours per area treated. Full body Lipo can take as much as 6 hours.

53) Will I need to stay in a hospital?

If the amount of fat to be removed is fairly small, your surgery can usually be performed on an outpatient basis, either in your doctor’s office or in an outpatient surgery clinic. If you are having large amounts of fat removed, or are undergoing several procedures at once, you may need to spend the night in the hospital so that medical staff can monitor your initial recovery. The procedure may be performed under local anesthesia with light sedation, local anesthesia and deep sedation, or general anesthesia.

54) How long do the results last for abdominal lipoplasty (Liposuction)?

Because a portion of the fat cells are permanently removed by Liposuction, you will not tend to regain weight in that area. It is important to note, however, that abdominal Liposuction does not guarantee that you won’t gain weight or fat deposits in other areas of your body. Be careful, since fat cells have been removed from the treatment site but not from surround areas, this weight gain can appear uneven. It is important to maintain your weight and contour with exercise and proper diet.

BUTTOCK/HIP LIPOSUCTION

55) What are some of the most common benefits of buttock Liposuction?

A newly trim lower body can provide a psychological lift and an extra incentive to exercise regularly to maintain fitness. Many patients even find physical activity more pleasurable after shedding extra fat, and they also find that clothes tend to fit them better.

56) What will happen at my initial consultation?

During the consultation, you’ll be able to talk to your doctor about the changes you would like to make in your appearance. The plastic surgeon will explain the different options available to you, the procedure itself, its risks and limitations, and the costs. Your surgeon will begin with a physical examination to evaluate your overall weight, your skin and muscle tone, and the fat deposits in various parts of your body. The cosmetic surgeon will also record your complete medical history, including any medications that you are currently taking. Your doctor will probably ask you questions about your diet & weight history.

If you are just concerned about removing fat, Liposuction alone will achieve that goal. But if you want an athletic, sculpted look, and you want to look great in a bikini, you may need to incorporate extensive exercise into your plan. Be sure to ask all the questions you have about the procedure, and ask to see photos of the doctor’s recent Liposuction surgeries, before and after treatment. Also ask for, and follow up on, patient references. Learning everything you can about your options, risks and benefits is the key to making an informed decision.

57) How is buttocks Liposuction performed?

Before buttock Liposuction surgery, the plastic surgeon will mark the precise areas of the body where the fat is to be removed. An intravenous (IV) line will be inserted in your arm to make sure the fluid level in your body remains in balance. You or your doctor may opt for general anesthesia, or you may be local anesthesia and a sedative for relaxation.

During the procedure, the surgeon makes a tiny incision in the skin, typically in or near the buttock crease, and inserts a thin tube called a cannula into the fatty area. The cannula is used to break up the fat deposits and sculpt the area to the desired proportions. The unwanted fat is suctioned out with a powerful vacuum, leaving the skin, muscles, nerves, and blood vessels intact.

58) Will I need to stay in a hospital?

If you have no medical problems, the procedure can be performed on an outpatient basis, either in your doctor’s office or in an outpatient clinic. It may be performed under local anesthesia with light sedation, local anesthesia and deep sedation, or general anesthesia. The longer the procedure is expected to take, the more likely that general anesthesia will be recommended. You may be allowed to return home within a few hours of the surgery, and spend the night in the comfort of your own home. If you have other medical problems, concurrent procedures, or a lengthier procedure performed under general anesthesia, it may be necessary to spend the night in the hospital so your recovery process can be monitored by a medical staff.

59) What can I expect afterward?

For a day or two, you can expect to feel tired, as though your body has been through a hard workout – and it has! Your hips and legs will be stiff and sore and you may experience some pain, burning, swelling, bleeding or temporary numbness. Your doctor can prescribe medication to relieve this initial discomfort.

Sometimes a small drainage tube is inserted under the skin to drain excess fluid. Your doctor may prescribe an antibiotic ointment to prevent infection at the incision sites. Your stitches will be removed in a week to 10 days, unless they dissolve on their own. You will be fitted with a tight compression garment to be worn for up to 8 weeks after your surgery. This specially designed garment will help reduce pain and swelling, and help your body settle into its new shape. Wearing the girdle for the right amount of time can count for as much as 40% of the surgeries success.

60) What is the long-term outcome like for most people?

You should see the visible results of your surgery within two or three weeks, but the full effects may not be evident for six months to a year. The more fat you have removed, the longer it takes for your skin to adapt to the change in shape.

Most people are pleased with their new contour, and often feel a boost in energy and self-confidence. Although Liposuction cannot alter skin quality or muscle tone and should not be a substitute for regular exercise and a balanced diet, your buttocks will always be slimmer than they would be if you hadn’t had this procedure.

Women has always been associated with cosmetic surgery, however nowadays men are also taking the benefit of cosmetic surgery especially liposuction for men. Other than liposuction for men, there are also tummy tucks, nose jobs and Botox for men.

Nevertheless, the middle-aged flabbiness can hit anyone, be it female or male. Statistically, men spent more time just sitting in front of the tv watching football games gulping down beer and spent less time exercising at gyms or at salad bars. When men move toward the middle age, they will bear the accumulation of fat deposits and it is just the fat deposits is very tricky to remove.

The Much Hated Love Handles
Among the worst problem spots on a man’s body is the “love handles”. Love handles are areas of fat deposits that build up around a man’s belly. Maybe the man’s wife of girlfriend may joke about the love handles them being adorable, however let us face the truth, they would prefer you to lose those fat deposits.

Basically, most middle age men are disturbed by the love handles. The most important cause is that love handles are a dead giveaway that shows a man are very much middle-aged. An effective method to remove the love handles is Liposuction, regardless of a man’s age. Liposuction is a small procedure for a cosmetic plastic surgeon to perform. The hardest part is to make sure that the fat deposits never come back again. After the surgery, suitable exercise and diet are highly recommended, however if both the exercise and diet fails, then liposuction is an alternative to remove the love handles and it can be repeated whenever you require it.

The Man Boobs
Man boobs can be really embarrassing to a man. Men may grow breasts at any point of time in their lives, right from the teenage years up to the retirement age. Man boobs is a general problem and it will keep a man from taking off his shirt while his holiday to the beach. Liposuction surgery can aim for areas of your body where you require it most. The cosmetic surgeon can get rid of fatty tissue surrounding your breasts and will not upset your muscles or other parts of your body. Man boobs are fat that will least likely to ever come back again.

Men’s Facial Rejuvenation
Among the most famous usage of Liposuction for both women and men is facial rejuvenation. In facial rejuvenation process, there will be some removal of a person’s droopy jowls, a person’s too-big nose or the fullness of a person’s lips. Some minor Liposuction will be able to rectify these conditions according to a person’s needs and for men these removal is among the most famous usage of Liposuction. When a man thinks that he is looking older, a facial rejuvenation will provide him with a younger and healthier appearance.

Liposuction for men is an uncomplicated procedure that all cosmetic plastic surgeon can perform. They are many benefits associated with liposuction especially with Tumescent Liposuction. Among them are speedy recover and less painful procedure. So, if you are man who have the above problems and having trouble to solve them, then Liposuction is the choice you should think of.

While clinics specialising in Laser Assisted Liposuction (LAL) opened several years ago in the U.K., Laser Lipo, the newest of the LAL procedures, doesn’t even call for a general or local anesthetic. For this treatment, doctors place two laser paddles on the designated area, while smaller probe lasers are placed over lymph glands. The broken-down fat cells are then removed through the lymphatic system.

The hour-long procedure is done without any incisions and leaves no bruises or stitches. Patients are allowed to return to work or their daily routine immediately after the non-evasive surgery.

Cosmetic surgeons think that this trend will only increase in the next few years with patients looking for short, easy methods to attack cosmetic problems as they arise.

While LALs are commonly used for tightening up more delicate areas, like the chin, neck, arms, love handles and men’s chests, it can also be done to the legs and hips, removing about half an inch to three inches over a course of eight sessions for about £1,000. A chin tuck costs about £600.

Other popular procedures, such as SmartLipo, take place under a local anesthetic. After the lasers break up the membrane of the fat cell, collagen is naturally produced, tightening the area with little bruising.

While patients have been generally pleased with the results of Laser Assisted Liposuction, doctors don’t recommend the procedure for those looking to remove large amounts of fat. For that, they suggest conventional liposuction, which uses a hollow needle to suction fat out of the body and usually involves an anesthetic and an overnight stay.

Aging and massive weight loss may have drastic effects on the elasticity of the cells of the skin and fat is stored and lost. Unfortunately, exercise and diet alone will not be able to cut and boost what you want. In many cases, cosmetic surgery is the only option to reverse the effects of time and physical stress was placed on the body. Liposuction and lift procedures can eliminate those stubborn fat deposits and tighten the saggy skin.

Even if a small amount of fat is removed during liposuction, it is not primarily a method of weight loss. The procedure targets areas of the body that are resistant to diet and exercise, refining and sculpture to look more aesthetic. Common locations for liposuction below the chin, belly, the “love handles” and inner thighs, even if it May be performed on almost any part of the body.

During the procedure, the surgeon inserts a hollow tube in the region to be carved. The tube is moved back and the whole fat, suck the excess cells. The cut is then stitched closed. Depending on the extent of surgery, recovery is quite comfortable and fast, a few days to a week or two. There will be bruising and tenderness in the area of healing. Results are visible immediately after, and you’ll continue to see improvements in the months to follow the swelling decreases.

If your skin is problematic, a lift in May be the solution. The thighs and arms in particular tend to suffer from an excess of sagging skin after weight loss mass. These regions are able to expand to store fat, causing the skin to be too tight, and the loss of elasticity in the process. Once it reaches a certain point, it cannot rebound, and further complicates the aging process.

Thigh lifts are generally oriented towards the inside of the thigh, but can also improve the appearance of the outdoor space. During the procedure, the surgeon makes an incision on the inside, near the groin and pulls the skin upward, making it tight. Extra skin and fat are cut and the rest is sewn in place. The recovery can take two to three weeks. Expect to be very painful and may be unable to walk comfortably for a while.

An arm lift is performed in a manner similar to the thigh lift. The incision is either placed inside or outside of the arm, usually from the armpit to just before the elbow. Extra skin and fat is removed and the remaining tissue is sewn securely fitness, leaving smooth and tight. Recovery takes one to two weeks, but the results should be visible shortly thereafter. Depending on the person, the scars can be a bit harsh. The incision is usually quite long, short sleeves and will not be able to hide it completely.

The side effects of massive weight loss and aging can be physically and emotionally damaging. Diet and exercise will not always get the results you want. Cosmetic surgery like liposuction and lifts can help you achieve what you cannot get by your own effort.

One of the highly effective and safest liposuction method is Tumescent Liposuction procedure. The procedure has been around since 1980. However it is only now that the procedure has become popular due to its accuracy and safety.

Invented in the year 1985 by Jeffrey Klein, M.D. a dermatologic surgeon from California. Ever since the invention, there are many improvements made to the method and results. The major improvement of the method was the usage of dilute local anesthetic where in the conventional method general anesthetic was used. This has made the method the as one of the most accurate and safe methods in the cosmetic surgery field. The method also reduced complications due to anesthesia and the loss of fluid because of large incisions as well as larger instruments.

Compared to other available liposuction methods, tumescent is not a very complicated procedure. In tumescent method, local anesthesia is used instead of general anesthesia. The recovery period is approximately 2 to 4 days. All available liposuctions methods are intended to provide better body contour by taking out excessive fat sandwiched between the muscle and the skin.

With Tumescent Liposuction the contouring of the body is done with more accuracy and with the removal of more fat. It is possible to remove more fat and have a more accurate because during the procedure, normally the patient is kept awake which in return permits the surgeon to sense the patient’s muscle tone besides the layer of fat. This is the major benefit of this liposuction method which allows more fat to be taken out. With the conventional method, the patient is sedated and normally the surgeon would have a hard time to remove the fat.

In Tumescent Liposuction, a small cannula, which is a small hollow needle, is used. It is attached to a strong vacuum and the cannula is then into the fat via a small cut in the patient’s skin. The vacuum sucks the fat from the body via the cannula.

The meaning of Tumescent anesthesia is to use local anesthesia to inject or “tumesce” or ”to make firm with liquid” the fat and the layers of skin. The anesthesia numbs the treatment area as well as constricting the blood vessels in the treatment area causing very little loss of blood and this will lead to a very fast recovery.

As there will likely be very little bleeding and loss of blood in Tumescent Liposuction, swelling after the procedure is lessen and this will help patients to recovery very fast. This when compared to the conventional method is an enormous development.

An astonishing fact about tumescent liposuction is that the method is capable of being combined with available liposuction methods. Normally, in the combine technique, other liposuction modalities will be performed first to slacken the excess fat and then followed by the removal of what is left via the tumescent liposuction method.

If you are looking into reshaping your body or taking some of those extra inches off your waist you are probably wondering how much does liposuction costs? Liposuction charges can be based on many factors. You have to take into account how long your surgery will take to be completed and this is how your doctor will base your charges from. Most liposuction surgeries performed are several hours. For example, most liposuction surgeries can take up to three to four hours to complete so there is an average price that is a general rule for liposuction surgeries. So, your asking how much does liposuction cost?

The average price is between five to seven thousands dollars in the United States. This is for a healthy weight person who needs a little assistance removing some of the extra weight in places where diet and exercise failed. If you are on the heavier side the cost will be more. You have to take into account this includes the surgeon’s fees, anesthesiologist fees, surgical room fees, and follow-up visit.

The fee is determined mostly by area where procedure is performed, if you have a well known experienced physician or one who just started out, and the anesthesiologists has fees to be applied for sedation for the surgery. It is hard to apply just a set price to liposuction it will be mostly based on who you use and what area or areas of the body need to be treated.

My suggestion would be to get out and speak to anyone you know who has had liposuction surgery. Find out how much they paid and the length of their surgery. It will vary greatly sometimes from newer physicians who need to build up a reputation and they may charge more than the experienced that has built up their clients and can charge a little less than the newer practices.

As many plastic surgeons state it is easier to be the first to work on a certain body area than to do repair work from a previous liposuction. So, this should tell you how much does liposuction cost? I would also look into the price differentiates between newer surgeons than experienced ones. The surgeons that are just starting out may charge you a higher fee than the experienced surgeons who has an established clientele.

Step1

What is liposuction?

The media illustrates it as new cosmetic procedures to lose weight / remove fat from the body. The first step is to figure out what liposuction really is and if it is right for you.

Liposuction is a cosmetic surgery procedure that removes fat from different areas of the body. This is achieved using

Although liposuction is the most common name, the procedure is also known as body sculpting, lipoplasty, body contouring, tummy tuck (refers to the specific region of the stomach), tumescent liposuction (which refers to a particular technique of sucking fat out), among other names that are either body area or technology specific.

It is most often performed by cosmetic surgeons, as well as properly licensed dermatologists in the US. Surgeons generally recommend (or at least supposed to) liposuction as a procedure that is only for fat that remains re-removable after proper exercise and diet.

In the US alone in 2007, 456,828 liposuction operations were performed (Source:http://www.surgery.org/). This number continues to grow exponentially as new technology makes the procedure safe and more efficient, and while prices become more competitive as more surgeons offer this service.

Step2

Decide whether it is right for you.

If you have fat on your body that reside in pockets that are hard to remove through exercise or diet, then you may be a candidate for liposuction procedure.

Step3

Decide the body part you want to remove fat from

Do you want to remove fat from your arms? legs? thigh? chest? mid section? chin? There are different procedure methods and costs associated to different areas. (More information on costs an be found on Cheap Liposuction Prices)

Step4

Decide the type of liposuction that suits you budget and preferences

Do your research on what the costs are for each procedure. Different surgeons specialize in different body parts, and may have perfected a technique for a specific area.

Step5

Search for and select a surgeon you trust

Going in for a consultation and meeting the doctor is the best way to gauge whether or not you feel comfortable with the doctor. In addition, be sure to ask for before and after photos of his work (in addition to the ones on the website, as those usually are the best cases).

Write down all of your most important concerns on a book or journal, and be sure ask the doctor all of your most important questions. A good doctor should take the time to address your concerns in a professional and comfortable way, without pressuring you for a sale. Remember, the decision is yours.

Step6

Negotiate, plan and close the deal on finances

Any kind of plastic surgery, whether surgical or cosmetic is expensive. Liposuction is no exception. Be sure to expect at least $2000 in surgery costs, and sometimes much more (up to $20,000) for liposuction of multiple body parts.

Other costs associated with hospital bills, anesthesia and post operative care clothes should be included in the cost estimation. Expectations for surgery costs should be handled upfront, before the surgery date and not after.

Step7

Operation / Recovery Time

Your doctor should provide specific instructions for the date of the surgery. Be sure to have driving directions, and a friend to drive you back after the operations. If this surgery is being conducted in a different city or overseas, plan your stay accordingly for at least 3-4 days of immediate recovery time, and 1-2 weeks off work.

Step8

Help others / provide feedback

After your procedure, enjoy your new self! It is still you, just a better version of it. Be sure to join the plastic surgery forums, and provide feedback to others who are also thinking of joining you in your path. Become a reference-able patient to your doctor if he/she did a good job.

Cost of liposculpture these days can average out well in the thousands of dollars in most surgical clinic’s, which is why some people may shy away from the procedure. However, Many positive responses from people across the United States who have had liposculpture prove that the cost is worth the payment.

The average person does not need to get an entire body work-over, but instead opt for individual body parts to be worked on. This is an effective, safe, and painless procedure, and it’s perfect for cutting away excess fat from areas such as the abdomen, hips, waist, thighs, buttocks, knees, arms, and the face and neck. Some may question if they really need a liposculpture to help improve their physical appearance. Many plastic surgeons wholeheartedly agree that the process is quick and simple, yielding fast, and most importantly, noticeable, results.

The cost of maintaining a healthy and strict diet, subscribing to a gym membership, and even hiring a personal trainer can require a large time investment, and with uncertain results, one could never be sure if they will gain any improvement. In the long run, this can sum up to a hefty cost, most likely averaging more than a quick and painless liposculpture. This is why this procedure is most highly regarded as a more permanent and much more effective substitute for diet and exercise. It not only helps those who have had trouble in the past losing weight, but also those who have no time to take out of their busy lives to get in shape.

Each plastic surgeon has a set standard of excellence that can be seen through their amazing results, year after year. Not only do they have years of experience, but their tools are state of the art. Technology is evolving rapidly, producing sophisticated machines capable of the most intricate and delicate operations, which is utilized in clinics all across America. An advanced technique called the topographic mapping technique is normally used prior to the procedure as a highly effective and accurate way of targeting the problem areas, making precision marking that garner visually pleasing results. liposculpture may not be too easy on the wallet, but as an investment, it is the only safe and secure procedure that is faster and more effective than traditional weight loss methods.

Breast lifts can improve the position, shape and distribution of existing breast tissue. It must also be remembered that effects of gravity and aging will continue and that some amount of sagging may gradually recur over time but exercises to lift breasts can hlep! Breast lift is usually done on an outpatient basis. Cessation of all nicotine products is strongly urged three weeks pre and post operatively. Breast lift surgery can be performed under local anesthesia, along with intravenous sedation, or general anesthesia depending on your health, the extent of the procedure and whether you are having other procedures at the same time. Techniques vary, but the most common procedure involves an anchor-shaped incision following the natural contour of the breast.

Breast lift is performed under general anesthesia. The procedure may be performed in a hospital whereby the surgeon has privileges to perform it there or an out patient surgical center. Breast lift may need to be repeated in the future to maintain optimal results especially with larger breasts. Decision to have surgery should be taken seriously and thought over carefully. When people are thinking of a breast implant they also ask How long do breast implants last. Breast lift surgery is performed in our office surgical facility. The process lasts approximately two hours.

Breast lift surgery is an elective procedure also known as mastopexy . It is performed by a plastic surgeon under general anesthesia , usually for cosmetic purposes. Breast lifts can come in numerous shapes and means. Generally they aim to manipulate the skin and connective tissue around the breast. Breast lift cosmetic surgery is usually done on women who wish to gain back the youthful look there breasts had before age and the gravity kicked in and everything started heading downhill and sagging. If you lose a tremendous or significant amount of weight it can also cause the breasts to stretch out and sag too.

Scars are the greatest drawback of a breast lift. They will be around the nipple, and may also extend from the nipple down to the crease, and along the breast crease. Scarring from the surgery can take anywhere from several months to a year to fade. Scars usually soften and fade within six to 12 months. Because scars are permanent and their appearance can be difficult to predict, scarring is an important consideration for many women.

Complications are less likely if the patient has never had radiation therapy to the surgical area, is a non-smoker, is not overweight, and avoids medicines that promote bleeding, such as aspirin and related drugs. To state that the other way, the chance of complications is greatly increased by radiation, excessive body weight, or nicotine, all of which will be discussed at the consultation with Dr. COMPLICATIONS AND ADDITIONAL SURGERY: Any of these problems noted above may require additional surgery, hospitalization, and time away from work. If this occurs, there will be additional costs for surgical fees, supplies, anesthesia, etc., depending upon the required operation. Make sure you konw the Dangers of Breast Implants before having your surgery done.
